Manuel Facchini collection presentation for LFW A/W 2015
Hailing from Italy, the epicentre of creativity, it is little surprise that Manuel Facchini is fascinated by art in all senses of the word.
After being creative director of Bylbos, for which he provided elegant and luxurious quality, the designer’s debut collection for his namesake brand fuses two very different fields: Gothic and sport. Shapes are rigid and sharp, stiff a-line skirts are constructed from neoprene, while narrow midi dresses enhance the silhouette.
The results are almost futuristic; the colour palette a simple monochrome, yet the patterns, the collection’s main focal point, are constructed from geometrical shapes and symmetrical lines, resulting in sharp optical illusions with a feminine twist.
The Gothic element consists of a textured leather coat and a black full-length lace dress, encompassing both strength and sophistication, precisely what the designer is known for.
All in all, the collection communicates a sharp but feminine aesthetic, representing the Facchini woman as an independent, sultry yet vivacious female.
