Entourage
Picking up where the popular comedy series ended, this film adaptation continues to follow the mad and exciting party lifestyle of popular movie star Vince, his older brother Johnny Drama, driver-turned-millionaire Turtle and Eric, Vince’s buddy and manager. Add more random famous people, shiny cars and toys and a lot more scantily clad hot girls and you get Entourage.
The idea of this film is to bring the essence of the television show to the big screen and hopefully bring a new audience along for the ride. For the uninitiated, fans of Hot Tub Time Machine will thoroughly enjoy this film.
In what is basically a feature-length version of the television show, Vice, after marrying and moving to LA only to end up on honeymoon “alone” (if you don’t count the yacht full of half-naked women), takes on the project of a lifetime – directing as well as starring in his own film. With a big-time agent-turned-studio-head at the helm, what could possibly go wrong? Nothing apparently, if one doesn’t take into account a money-mad Texan father and son due keeping tight reigns on the funds.
With his friends rushing to his side to aide his desire partake in various vices, what the film tries to put across is even though it’s important to enjoy life, loyalty, friendship and brotherhood is what is all about. Producer Mark Wahlberg recalls: “we’d always planned to make a feature length movie…it’s the guys being the guys, along with all the great Entourage-style moments you got from the original, but bigger in every way.”
This is the sort of film you watch with friends ahead of a crazy night out. It’s hard not to get swept up in all the madness and antics. The audience will feel for the characters, as well as laugh like hell. A well-made, good-time comedy.
