Lathbridge collection presentation | LCM S/S 2016
The Lathbridge by Patrick Cox spring/summer 2016 collection was held at an absolutely enchanting venue.
Going down the stairs of the Sketch Hotel and opening the long green curtains to enter the Glade Room, was more or less like finding yourself in Narnia, on the other side of the wardrobe. Behind the curtains was in fact a fairytale like forest, hosting shoes on columns of reflective glass which made the setting even more fascinating.
The atmosphere was pretty classy and very relaxed: classical music played in the background, men in suits were drinking wine and ladies were chatting away, just like a tiny, lovely party between close friends.
The collection takes a lot of inspiration from this kind of bucolic feeling; flowers were printed on bags and shoes – most of all sneakers, as well as ankle boots and loafers in patchwork or interlaced leather – explaining the research of a deeper contact with nature.
Of course, there were also classic models, reflecting the British heritage, but, especially for women Lathbridge propose very original high boots with flower prints on pink leather alongside lucid black ankle boots and shocking pink Mary Janes.
Many classic designs became contemporary with a rubber sole, while sneakers and bags featured studded details, perfect for a more casual but glam night out.
