Barbie breaks the internet with first vlog

Step aside Zoella and Tanya Burr, because there is a new vlogger in town – none other than our much-loved childhood companion, Barbie.

Since the first doll was produced in 1959, Barbie has been a doctor, a lawyer, and even an astronaut; now she has officially joined the 21^st century, and created a YouTube channel, to share snippets of life in her Malibu Dreamhouse.

Of her newfound interest in video blogging, Barbie explained to People: “I guess I hope my fans can learn new things about me and get inspired by new ideas I might pass along, just as I get inspired by them and their ideas.” 

In addition to telling the magazine how she plans to spend her summer (visiting family in Wisconsin and volunteering at the local animal shelter), Barbie revealed she is a big fan of some of our other favourite girls, Taylor Swift and Zendaya. “I mean, who doesn’t admire them?” she said, “I love their music and their style, and I also love who they are: two hardworking and extremely creative women who aren’t afraid to stand up for what they know is right.”

Describing her personal style, Barbie stated: “It really depends on the day. I’ve never been a person who wants to have one personal style. I think it’s important to experiment and express yourself on a day-to-day basis. I love dressing up; I also love dressing down. I never want to be boxed in.”
