INC’s 30th Anniversary runway show report for NYFW S/S 2016
Summer showers couldn’t dampen the festivities on Thursday evening, as INC International Concepts celebrated their 30th anniversary at New York Fashion Week. Brand ambassadors Heidi Klum and Gabriel Aubrey headlined the event, which welcomed a star-studded crowd that included the likes of singers Christina Milian and Justin Skye, and models Shaun Ross and Candice Huffine.
Hosted at the IAC building in Chelsea, the event featured a digital runway show followed by a live presentation of the label’s latest men and women’s capsule collections.
Klum, who cut a svelte figure in an INC faux-leather mini dress, praised the label for its continuing success in creating “affordable fashion for every woman”, joking with Macy’s CEO Terry Lundgren that her own outfit, which retails at $119.50, should “really cost more”.
The collection takes stock of the 70s glamor trend that continues to sweep the runways, and consists of limited-edition pieces that won’t break the bank, including fringe ponchos (starting at $99.50), a faux-fur vest ($189.50) and high-waist flared pants ($79.50) for women. The men’s collection features a range of classic separates with contemporary details, including slim-fit blazers (from $79.98), fitted suits and suit separates ($39.98-$79.98) and a quintessential bomber jacket with faux-leather sleeves ($129.50).
Impressively, even after three decades in the game, INC’s designs continue to feel fresh, versatile and highly wearable. As she paid tribute to occasion by blowing out the candle on their birthday cake, Klum, who has modeled for the brand in the past, offered sound advice for the future: “Don’t change a thing.”
