Burberry Christmas campaign 2015
Burberry has launched its new Christmas campaign and it’s guaranteed to awaken everyone’s festive spirit. This year, the fashion house opted for a tribute to the renowned West End musical, Billy Elliot.
The Burberry Festive Film, which is made of an entirely British cast, starts with original footage from the 2000 movie, followed with models performing the famous jumping scene – which are also recreated in the stills taken by Mario Testino.
Rosie Huntington Whitely, Naomi Campbell and Romeo Beckham star, alongside Julie Walters, who played Billy’s ballet teacher in the film, and Sir Elton John, who wrote the original music for the musical.
Speaking about the campaign, Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey, who also directed the video, said: “Billy Elliot is an incredible film full of so much joy and energy, so it was a real thrill and a great honour to be able to celebrate its 15 year anniversary through our campaign. It was also a huge privilege to work with such amazing and iconic British talent – the cast are quite simply some of the biggest names in film, music and fashion and it was so much fun working with them all to make this special film.”
