Alexander McQueen’s life to become a movie
Alexander McQueen’s life is to become a movie, Deadline Hollywood has confirmed.
If people weren’t excited enough for Andrew Wilson’s biography in 2015, Alexander McQueen: Blood Beneath the Skin, there will now be a film based loosely around the biography. Deadline Hollywood has confirmed that English director, Andrew Haigh, has signed onto the McQueen biopic project.
The British, global fashion designer, Lee Alexander McQueen, excelled into fame in the fashion industry and founded his own label in 1992. Although his success in the creative industry didn’t start there; McQueen was famously known as chief fashion designer for the French brand, Givenchy, from 1996 to 2001.
The news of McQueen’s life becoming a movie comes as no surprise at all. The success of the sell-out V&A exhibition Savage Beauty and the West End play McQueen have had everyone on their toes for more fashion-based media around the British designer and his original, creative designs.
The London located exhibitions and West End shows promote how proud the brand is to be British. With London-based playwright, Chris Urch, writing the screenplay and the London-born designer’s hard work to success is supposedly already in the making.
Although there is no news on who will play the great Alexander McQueen and no comment from the brand, we can’t contain our excitement for the film. After sell out after sell out, this is definitely not one to miss.
