Jasper Conran presented a wearable autumn/winter 2016 collection at BFC Show Space for London Fashion Week. The new looks were elegant with classic cuts and tailoring. Here are our images from the show.
Autumn/winter 2016 has landed at London Fashion Week and what a wonderful way to kick off a Saturday morning with Jasper Conran. Jasper’s collection for this season took inspiration from the world’s architecture and art.
This influence created pieces with a masculine touch for overcoats and jackets with tailored shirts and dresses split front, back and side. The architectural patterns imitated geometry created into graphics that brought out the dark greens patch pockets, bindings and epaulettes laid out on each creation.
Later on, some dresses had the summer touch with the flamboyant colours and smart tailoring; this set of dresses would be perfect even before autumn/winter 2016! The influence of bold colours is an inspiration many should take, and the dresses that appeared later in the collection were bursting with autumnal hues and added fun loving crayola striped brights.
The show was kept simple and the set had superb lighting, which brought out his creations’ colours and influence beautifully. The music was an odd choice as I didn’t think the collection brought out the “down south” country feel, (besides its slight military influences), but it seemed to work for the models who kept their cool.
