Five of the best Literary Festivals in London this Summer
Do you like curling up with a page-turner in front of a roaring winter fire? Well, book lovers can also find comforting literary delights in the big city during the summer season. With a number of literary festivals taking place throughout London during the (hopefully) warmer months, we have whittled down the list to the five top bookish events.
Africa Writes at The British Library
Africa Writes is the Royal African Society’s annual literature festival. Every year the event showcases established and emerging talent from the African continent in what is now the UK’s biggest celebration of contemporary African writing, with an abundance of book launches, readings, author appearances, panel discussions and workshops.

Books Unbound Literary Festival at Godolphin and Latymer School, Hammersmith
Set in the historic grounds of Godolphin and Latymer School in the heart of Hammersmith, Books Unbound Literary Festival offers something for everyone across two days of exciting talks on a wide range of topics set to educate, challenge and appeal to all interests.

Now in its seventh year, the Chiswick Book Festival brings together top authors and their readers for a weekend of history, poetry, sport, biography, creative writing, fiction, thrillers, food, politics and children’s books. After each event, readers can buy copies of the latest books from the Waterstones Festival bookshop, and have them signed by the authors.
