Karl Lagerfeld’s cat is first to own the Dyson hairdryer
With a make-up collaboration with Shu Uemura, two personal maids and over 80K followers on Instagram under her belt, Choupette Lagerfeld (a cat) has probably already achieved more than many of us will in our entire lives. Now, she is the first to have been gifted with the innovatively designed and much anticipated new hairdryer by Dyson, and a lot of humans are apparently very jealous.
The silent hairdryer has not yet been released in Europe or the United States, but if anyone can get their paws on the next big thing before anyone else, it’s Choupette – courtesy of Daddy Karl Lagerfeld, of course.
“Karl’s people got in touch. We sent one straightaway,” Dyson explained of how the cat owned by Chanel’s creative director became the first to own the revolutionary Supersonic hairdryer (worth no less than £299).
The new gadget uses a bladeless fan and claims to be up to eight times faster than your standard hairdryer, supposedly protecting the hair (or fur) from heat damage with a glass bead thermistor that measures the temperature 20 times a second. Exactly 103 engineers have poured their various talents and four years of their lives into designing and creating the innovative product that will now become a part of the pampered cat’s famously detailed beauty regime.
Mr Dyson himself has claimed that the hairdryer’s new, quieter motor will mean the end of long-haired pets being frightened by the noise of the hairdryer, but Choupette’s reaction remains to be seen.
