Love Me Again: Out with the old, in with the new
If after all the consideration given to the environmental arguments, recycled clothes still don’t sound very appealing, come to Love Me Again label and you will be hooked. There is nothing you can do but love this darling label from fashionable Manchester. Based in their studios in Bankley, they create clothes entirely made from recycled textiles where each design is carefully considered before an original piece of clothing goes under the knife. 28-year-old costume designer Tracey Cliffe is the brainchild behind the label that breathes new life to an old garment.
Tracey takes cloth rejected by Salford textile recycler I&G Cohen, or turned down by charity shops and turns them into new, stylish creations that have taken the fancy of many stylish Mancunian youngsters. Tracy’s mantra is simple: she takes items such as men’s worn-out shirts ruined at the neck and collar, selects out the best from these pieces before turning them into dreamy dresses and trendy tops.
Many of her revamped stylish outfits are sold as “vintage fashion” in trendier charity shops. Needless to say this former costume designer for TV and theatre is fast becoming the vintage fashion queen of Manchester. Her dresses retail at between £28 and £45 and the tops start at £15. As more environmentally conscious customers flock to her store, she is buoyed by the fact that her first commercial venture has turned into a success.
