R13 spring/summer 2017 collection catwalk show for NYFW
Chris Leba, former VP of Ralph Lauren and the creative genius behind cool brand R13, presented a very punk spring/summer 2017 collection at Skylight Modern for New York Fashion Week.
The show started with a remix of National Anthem as almost transparent pale models were gliding through the 15,000-square-feet, column-free space in oversized high-top boots painted in American flag.
That was the only glimpse of color the public could see in this collection. Black and white pieces, heavy eye makeup, and dark lips with multiple metal chain accessories and chokers were a déjà vu of a popular early 80s style.
Perhaps Mr Leba was inspired by his own upbringing and growing up in 80s and 90s where motto jackets, ripped tees and jeans were the ultimate necessities of street style.
The new and old looks of the season were distressed skinny jeans, and destroyed knitwear. Also, graphic t-shirts remain in style. Oversized denim jackets and dress shirts added to a street style of these upcoming season.
