Nolcha Shows: Globe Fashion Week spring/summer 2017 collection catwalk show for NYFW
Tonight Globe Fashion Week collections were presented at Artbeam Studios, in the artsy Chelsea neighbourhood. The crowd started gathering outside much earlier than the scheduled time and anticipation was in the air. Independent designers presented at the Global Fashion Week pride themselves of being unique and responding to different demands of a capricious and ever-changing fashion market. Nikistavia, Syu Syu Han and Song Hong with her brand Cashmere Song were presenting tonight.
The show started with Nikistavia. Gorgeous models were floating wearing light and feminine floral rompers, long skirts and strapless dresses. The brand position themselves in the 18-to-40-years range, for independent minded housewives and fashionable women with unique ideas. Perhaps to better send a message, all models were blonde wearing their hair long and curly, accessorising either with cute crowns or golden-hair accessories.
Contrary to romantic Nikistavia, Syu Syu Han presented sharp, cutting-edge black-and-white designs. Printed black T-shirts, knee-high patent leather boots, and cutout mini dresses with metal clasp details looked sexy and mighty, slightly referencing Madonna’s infamous bustier. The message of this presentation was to be strong and not to be afraid to show your own personal style.
Finally, Song Hong, the designer behind the brand Cashmere Song, presented a breathtakingly soft and beautiful all-white collection of the finest cashmere. The brand was established in 2010 and was presented in Hong Kong, Seattle and Shenzhen where it won the new designer award. By using the finest cashmere – wool and natural – and pastel colours, the collection transfers feelings of refined simplicity and elegance for modern women leading urban lives.
