Designers Neslişah and Yilmaz and Nur Çağlayan dazzled Freemasons’ Hall in Holborn this afternoon with their spring/summer 2017 collection. Their gorgeous cocktail dresses, stunning evening and casual wear draw from their Turkish influences and also renowned Austrian artist Gustav Klimt.
Seated at the front row of the catwalk were the stars of Channel 4’s reality TV show Made in Chelsea, including Mark-Francis Vandeli, Victoria Baker-Harper and Louise Thompson.
The east indeed met the west thanks to Turkish international model Tülin Şahin – crowned one of the top 50 models in the world by Allure – who opened the show. The collection displayed sequin embellishments, French lace and extravagant ruffles accentuating the femininity of the models and garment. Long trails and body-hugging fish tails adorned the collection. Marbling prints brought a distinctive flare to the dresses and gowns, again drawing from Turkish influences, giving each piece a rare nature as the pattern cannot be repeated. The entire collection had a range of palettes from pale nudes, pinks and purples to deep browns and gold, hailing from the Klimt’s array of colours which he is best known for. Ranging from jumpsuits, playsuits, gowns and hemmed skirts as well as deep cut skirts and off-shoulder dresses. Overall, the designers’ distinctive influences can clearly be seen, giving a mixture of culture and modernity to their couture.
