David Koma spring/summer 2017 collection catwalk show for LFW
David Koma’s Spring 2017 collection offered a chic, monochrome set of clothes well-suited to sophisticated cocktail bars and wild parties alike.
A neat diamond pattern linked the various dresses, skirts, tops and jumpsuits; sometimes, these diamonds shimmered as silver sequins, whilst at other points they were cut into sheer inserts at a hemline or a waist. Indeed, sheer panels that revealed a glimpse at the body beneath were another recurring theme, adding an edgy sensuality to the cocktail dresses and jumpsuits that dominated the catwalk.
Silhouettes were often asymmetric, with skirts hanging dramatically long at one side and cut short at the other. Dresses were frequently one-shouldered, or else they hung off the shoulder completely and were finished by statement, voluminous sleeves. The straight, graphic lines of the high-necked mini dresses had an almost 1960s-vibe, but they retained their contemporary sophistication thanks to details such as sharply contrasting stitching or a completely sheer bodice. 
As the collection continued, a chain-like motif seemed to emerge, cutting itself through the often skin-tight fabric and then wrapping around the form to tantalising effect. A collection of black jumpsuits, meanwhile, offered a stylish evening-ready alternative to the standard cocktail dress.
