Nairi Martirosyan’s striking and classic hat designs
Hat designers often work with unusual shapes and materials to create their stunning designs and the milliner Nairi Martirosyan does just that. She creates bespoke pieces from a wide range of selected materials for all occasions, as well as for theatre and film productions.
All of Nairi’s hats are made using traditional millinery techniques and quality materials – her collections are a selection of really neat, sweet hats that sit perfectly on the wearer. She uses bold colour contrasts and takes influences from traditional hats such as the beret, but redesigns it into something more formal, though with quirky detailing to make unique and unusual designs for any occasion.
Honing her skills whilst training at London College of Fashion, Nairi learned traditional millinery techniques before moving on to study theatrical millinery and period hat-making at Kensington and Chelsea College and Morley College, where she developed her talent. Nairi now sells her designs online, catering for people who want a hat for a special day out, or for weddings and other occasions. She is able to fulfil people’s creative dreams by making bespoke hats that are designed specifically to her customers’ tastes. Also creating designs for theatre, she is able to keep her more flamboyant designs alive; one of her designs was even chosen to be part of Vogue’s Hat Stand in the April addition of Vogue.
With such charming designs made in eye-catching fabrics, Nari Martirosyan is definitely a designer to look out for. Take a look at her website here – you may even find an excuse to wear one of the striking pieces yourself!
