Julianna Bass spring/summer 2017 collection presentation for NYFW

At downtown event space Spring Studios in New York City, on 13^th September designer Julianna Bass showcased her spring/summer 2017 line in a self-proclaimed “pink cloud syndrome” for New York Fashion Week.

Inspired by “irrational grandiosity in a time of despair”, the line is a cultivated detachment from reality. The dreamy landscape of flowing fabrics, organza, silk and crepe made up the wistful line with pops of bone, blush and mint. From a feminine sleeveless crepe duster jacket in rose (The Stella) to silk gowns mesh, the line sparked hints of romance and ultra femininity.

Models looked dewy and fresh with makeup by MAC and makeup artist Chantel Miller, with soft, shiny locks by Marco Vogt and Aveda. The new designer (she debuted her first autumn/winter in 2015) inspires women to be classically beautiful with a twist. Bass, originally from Tennessee, studied fashion at FIT, and was named designer of the year after graduation. She has worked at Bill Blass, Elie Tahari, Eugenia Kim and Marc Jacobs.

While in Berlin in 2013, Bass was so inspired by the city she relocated there. Now immersed in their culture, fashion and art, she develops her creativity from there. Bass says:“My time in Berlin has given me the incredible mix of freedom and focus. I’m able to design from my authentic self.”
