Conscious collection by H&M: For a more sustainable fashion future
With its naturalistic, jungle-themed image, H&M has us feeling great about shopping while making a difference to the world. This latest collection was launched on the 12th April and is featured in 100 stores worldwide. The clothes portray the varieties of red-carpet fashion that we now have on our glamorous cat-walks; Oscar nominees Michelle Williams and Viola Davis have already been spotted wearing dresses from the collection on various red carpets, so trust me ladies, these pieces are worth having a look at!
The clothes are made from sustainable materials such as organic cotton, hemp and recycled polyester – this is amazing and it gives off a great example that other designers should follow.
It seems like 2012 is all about looking after the environment, so to do your little bit: why not pop down to your nearest store selling the Conscious collection and indulge yourself and you won’t be disappointed!
“We want our customers to feel confident that everything they buy from H&M is designed, manufactured, and handled with consideration for people and environment,” said H&M’s CEO Karl-Johan Persson in a statement.
H&M have been doing an amazing job in helping the planet and making the world a better place, so to be honest we all need to follow in their footsteps. This isn’t their only inspiring success: they are the number one users of cotton worldwide, have donated 2.3 million garments to charity and saved 300,000,000 litres of water from their denim products.
