Theatre Products autumn/winter 2017 collection catwalk show for NYFW
Japanese brand Theatre Products made their international debut with a modern presentation of their autumn/winter 2017 collection for New York Fashion week. The brand believe that fashion creates art wherever it goes and that showed in their perfectly executed clothes.
The idea for this collection is deceptively simple: “one-night, two-day trips” – perfect packable pieces for a quick getaway. Theatre Products showed a range of garments from dresses to loungewear using high-quality fabrics from Nakaden. The clothes were designed to travel well and to suit a wide range of possible travel needs.
While the idea behind the show was very practical, the collection showed that practicality doesn’t mean sacrificing style. The clothes, while easy to wear, feature a strong design sensibility. Flowing wide-legged trousers appeared throughout the collection multiple times in different fabrications and each was a success. In fact the brand showed several variations on the idea of a pantsuit: one in a bold red orange ready for a night on the town and the other an incredibly stylish and comfortable looking knit version. Both are must haves.
While this may have been Theater Products first show outside of Japan it’s doubtful that it will be their last. Beautiful, luxurious, go anywhere clothes: what more could a modern woman want? To see what they show next season of course!
