Elizabeth Kennedy presented a stunning eveningwear collection for autumn/winter 2017. The scene was set with a verdant chandelier made of leaves and the calls of tropical birds mixed into the music. Clothes mimicked the setting with bold colours and feathers featuring prominently across the dresses.
The presentation was wonderfully intimate with models coming up to the edge of the stage, giving the audience the opportunity to see the clothing up close, which made them all the more impressive as they were impeccably made. Perfectly curved seams made an all-black two-piece trouser suit with cape fit like a dream.
Dramatic silhouettes were the order of the day: huge ball gowns, oversized peplums, and show-stopping necklines appeared. The designer was on hand speaking to show-goers about her designs, and was overheard saying one of the skirts contained over 150 yards of tulle and took many hours to make. Feathers were delicately placed, often creating an ombré effect accented with touches of sparkle.
The eye for grandeur, plus attention to detail, is sure to make this designer one to watch on the red carpet.
