Palmer//Harding autumn/winter 2017 collection presentation for LFW

Palmer//Harding tapped into goth silhouttes for autumn/winter 2017. At their presentation a diverse spectrum of models roamed with attitude through blackened wood chippings wearing standard items reinvented and layered into new abstract shapes: coats with buttoned gaping edges at the back; shirts worn carelessly off the shoulder and down to the knee as dresses or transformed into cape-like structures.

Goth-glam laced ankle boots cut the line of calf length skirts while other looks are accompanied with multiple strapped stilettos. A predominantly black and white palette was broken up with a soft orange, mundane blue, green and soft pink.

A mix of fabrics were used, from draping rich velvet to leather waistbands and long gloves. Smart tailoring was daring and distorted and hanging shapes were made sensual through cinched-in waists and high splits. It was a fascinating collection full of drama, discovery and reinvention.
