Malone Souliers autumn/winter 2017 collection presentation for LFW
Malone Souliers presented their stunning autumn/winter 2017 collection in Mayfair for London Fashion Week, with guests invited along to the venue with an atelier at its centre to join the designers “…as we make a shoe”.
Focused around the craftsmanship crucial to their brand, the presentation included the founders themselves, effortlessly cool Mary Alice Malone and Roy Luwolt, sat round a table while shoes were created in real time and artisans moved among the high calibre crowd. Distinctive model Winnie Harlow joined the designers as shoes were specially customised for her and immediately modelled on her gloriously long pins for the guests.
A range of beautifully made shoes were in the upstairs room amongst a nature themed display, including collaborations with Roksanda and Natalia Vodianova. Uniquely curved lines and unusual cut aways created exciting and innovative shapes, straps and ties gave a confident sexuality, while rich fabrics, opulent colours and flashes of metallic signalled luxury and sophistication. Embroidered details added a sense of fun and creativity.
Shimmering metallic lurex lined luxurious velvets mules and pointed strapped stilettos. Beautiful brocade designs featured on boots and an incredible range of sexy yet sophisticated thigh-highs were displayed, including an elongated model of the lace-up Montana. A new Sadie style was introduced in a T-bar sandal and thigh-high set in butter stretch suede.
The Vodianova designs such as the Anastasia heels included embroidery detail and a statement heart on the front of luxuriously rich blue, pink, peach suede and satin finish fabrics. Neva flats came in nude, berry and midnight napa with white linen, pink satin and cactus flower suede with delightful embroidered hearts and patterns. Natalia, unusual slip on heels, had a peep toe and split tied with a bow in white linen with melon or majorelle nappa and in flamboyant pink and blue satin.
The Roksanda line included Gwendolyn boots with a cut out heel in grey or navy blue eel skin, with peach pie and green suede or brick suede and beige nappa. Harmony low heels had a sophisticated covered toe and separate strap with a distinctive silver button, available in navy blue or rose gold mirror nappa. The design was also available in pointed flats called Lee in blue, peach pie and orange or grey, navy and peach. Sexy stilettos called Ethhel had knotted rope straps around the toe and ankle in black or blue, peach and orange suede.
Presenting a stunning range of unique and exciting shoes, the new collection from Malone Souliers emphasised the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship and cutting-edge design, no doubt fuelling shoe obsessions everywhere…
