Éthologie by Jasper Garvida autumn/winter 2017 collection catwalk show for LFW
Designer Jasper Garvida presented his Éthologie autumn/winter collection catwalk show for the 2017 London Fashion Week at the Bloomsbury on the third day of London Fashion Week.
With the strapline of “light as a feather, heavy as a cloud” Garvida cites the works of Belgian surrealist artist René Magritte as a source of inspiration.
The George V Hall was filled with atmospheric lighting and smoke to create a “heavenly atmosphere where all men and women are equal”. Models rolling suitcases, donning shades and taking selfies brought an independent sassiness to the vibe.
The designs were dominated by smart, masculine tailoring done out in contrastingly feminine trompe l’œil-printed fabrics resulting from a collaboration with Tokyo based SC Design Lab known for pushing the boundaries of printed textiles through combining creativity with the potential of modern technology.
Other fabrics ranged from close fitting sleeveless knee length dresses in sexy leathers to mini skirts in layers of luxury feathers, different textures bravely mismatched and layered. Long sleeve vibrant shirts and leather jackets contradict short skirts and denim hotpants. The hues covered a spectrum of off-centre tones of green to blue to pink to bronze.
Heels with a variety of straps and wraps around the foot and ankle in bright green, black, blue and red added a statement edge. There was standout styling provided by Cheryl Munoz and Lina Carbosiero from Daniel Galvin creating voluminous does that exuded attitude and Mink & Co eyelashes drew in the gaze to the model’s eyes.
Garvida’s new Éthologie collection presented for London Fashion week was sexy, sassy and colourful while still sophisticated.
