Hallie Sara autumn/winter 2017 collection catwalk show for LFW
New York-based designer Hallie Sara played to her strengths for her autumn/winter 2017 collection. Focusing on womenswear this season, she presented a luxurious lineup that showed her skills in transforming leather and fur into contemporary, modern pieces.
Sara, known for her sportswear-inspired take on fur and leather, decided to let that element of her brand rest for this show, and instead focused on sleek evening- and occasionwear. With a seasonal colour palette ranging from warm beiges, coffee and chocolate brown, plum and a very dark teal to black. The looks gradually became darker and more sensual, the beginning wide leg trousers and nude, semi-sheer blouses and eventually culminating in a sexy black, full-leather evening gown.
The silhouettes remained slim and fluid, with only the occasional high-collared fur jacket providing a bit more volume that moved away from the body. The models, styled with tightly knotted hair and a dark smoky eye, strutted down the runway in leather and suede pencil skirts and bootleg trousers.
The most wearable pieces were the slim, tailored coats with matching mink collars, and the sharp leather jackets that accentuated the waist. Highlight was a deep red leather catsuit with a fox fur stole belted at the waist.
Sara knows what she’s good at, and this glamorous outing for her brand ticked all her usual boxes.
