We went back to the future at the Blood Brother BB CORP presentation. Decked out with old-school computers and office furniture, this 80s futurism throwback is an ode to the internet powered technological revolution.
Broad-shouldered plaid power suits are layered with jersey and velour tracksuits, merging the nostalgic with contemporary streetwear. The mac received a makeover, presented in moc-croc with matching trousers. Oversized T-shirts in jersey and denim are adorned with slogans such as “plug-in”, celebrating the era’s technological advancements in computing, cars and the concorde.
The 80s wouldn’t be the 80s without nylon This time however, trousers, bum bags and bombers celebrate the underrated fabric in a more understated colour palette of black and burnt orange.
Harnesses and buckles have been all over the catwalk this season, and Blood Brother didn’t miss a trick. For SS18, founders Nicholas Biela and James Waller put them to good use on parachute harnesses, bags, belts and bomber jackets.
Desirable yellow-tinted frames, Blood Brother-scribbled caps, and plimsoles without socks were the icing on the cake. Did anybody see where I parked my DeLorean?
