Irynvigre spring/summer 2018 collection catwalk show for LFW
Spring Summer 2018 for Irynvigre presents a natural colour palette of creams, taupes, mushroom browns, khaki, black and burnt orange. There is a definite Grecian feel to the looks, with toga style floor length flowing dresses and layered sleeves. Delicate crystal detailing in pinstripe designs as well as a shimmering grey textured fabric add an element of understated opulence to the outfits. Stripes are featured in both pinstripes and thicker columns, but always moving vertically creating an elevated form.
Sheer fabric is featured on almost all the outfits, adding a revealing element to an otherwise concealed theme. Cowl necks and turtlenecks are reimagined in translucent materials, again demonstrating the juxtaposition of concealed vs exposed. Strategically placed piping in the same tones as the base fabric directs the silhouette of the pieces. Organza wafts ethereally in soft layered skirts and hemlines, giving a celestial effect. A Middle Eastern influence can also be seen via the palazzo pants, hooded jackets and harem trousers.
Models sport bare feet, or heeled leather mules in neutral tones. The makeup is a simple black eyeliner with gold foiling in the inner corner, a perfect compliment to the simple yet elegant looks. The standout piece of the collection is a mushroom-coloured, hooded knee-length dress with a tie belt in a satin material, almost reminiscent of a dressing gown. A beautiful casual take on formalwear, accessorised perfectly with a low cut crystal chain hanging down into the V cut of the bust line.
A graceful mix of subdued tones and gentle fabrics, with dainty use of crystals and metallic finishes, this is a sophisticated selection from Irynvigre for SS18.
