UK Michelin star restaurants 2018: Full list and map

Today in London, Michelin has unveiled the 2018 list of restaurants that held, gained or lost the coveted stars in Great Britain and Ireland. Many are the exciting new changes and we’ve put together the complete list and also placed them on an easy-to-use interactive map.

The big news is that there’s a new three-michelin-starred establishment in London, the Araki, a 15-seat Japanese restaurant in Mayfair. Despite the departure of chef patron Clare Smyth, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay – the celebrity chef’s flagship restaurant – retained its three stars. Claude Bosi (Claude Bosi at Bibendum) and Phil Howard (Elystan Street) both gained stars (two and one respectively) after losing two due to the closure of their celebrated restaurants Hibiscus and The Square. Once again, two of our favourite fine-dining restaurants, Marianne and Typing Room, did not win the michelin star. Interestingly, Howard was the only British chef to win a star in London, all the others come from abroad.

Many of the new stars belong to restaurants that are part of luxury country house hotels, such as Coworth Park, Lympstone Manor, Whatley Manor Hotel and Pennyhill Park Country House Hotel.

Among the new entries, Moor Hall stood out as a modern, cutting-edge dining destination; as for the established restaurateurs, Tom Kerridge earned another star for The Coach, located in Marlow just like his main pub restaurant Hand & Flowers; Peter Sanchez-Iglesias won another star for Paco Tapas in Bristol (on top of the one for Casamia).

In Scotland there’s only one new star – Loch Bay – and in Ireland for the first time a pub won a michelin star with Wild Honey Inn.
