Le Labo perfumes, a new spin on an old tradition

Le Labo fragrances lab have built a collection of scents based on the natural essences found in Grasse, France’s perfume capital.

The principle note gives its name to each fragrance and a number, which denotes the amount of raw ingredients that go into making the scent. Of the original fragrances available here is a selection:

Firstly Bergamote 22, which brings a freshness and bitterness of grapefruit with the sweetness of amber and musk that gives it a unique personality.

Santal 33 is inspired by the spirit of the American West, with a cardamon, iris, cedar and sandalwood combination that is sensual and unisex.

Also made to be worn by men and women alike, Rose 31 is based on the Centifolia rose, which is warm and spicy with added woody notes.

Last but not least, Neroli 36 has a sunny floral character, with a warm base of musk and mandarin orange.

There are two options available for those wishing to explore the world of Le Labo. The first is to simply select one or more of their fragrances in store or online, the second option is to take the time to visit the boutique. In the exclusive shop you can take time to linger, touch, see and smell with one of their experts without being pressed into buying. It’s a place you can explore at leisure and if you do decide to take the plunge they can make the fragrance for you.

The brand refuses to add to perfume shops with factory-made products by choosing loving formulas made by hand (and noses) instead.
