Josh Rouse: An interview with the American singer-songwriter
Experimenting with different styles of music within folk and soft pop melodies, Josh Rouse continues to explore a good variety of sounds, producing soulful songs and attracting an increasingly international audience. With his new single out – Love in the Modern Age – the American songwriter composes an ode to the lovers, inspired by Leonard Cohen, while turning to more digital tones.
After ten years in Valencia, Rouse has just moved back to the States. He enjoys the multicultural exposure his career offers and the comments from his sons about their father’s powerful music. We spoke with the artist before his gig at the Courtyard Theatre in London – first stop in the UK of his European tour – about the songwriting process, musical influences and what is coming up next.
