Barry M Cosmetics 30th anniversary party
We all love a bit of make-up, especially on a night out. So when I heard we were invited to Barry M’s 30th Anniversary Party, combining make-up and a great girls’ night out, how could I refuse?
Heeled up, dressed up, made up, and accompanied by my glam pal, Kunita, we headed down to Circus, Covent Garden to join the celebrations.
There was no mistaking where the party was at, with a pink carpet laid out at the front, along with a giant Barry M lipstick, which the ladies took in turns to take their snaps beside.
On our entrance, we were greeted with Barry M-style bright cocktails; we went for the pink, keeping with the theme. A make-up artist was set up with an array of the brand’s products and we topped up our lip-gloss and added a bit of sparkle. Guests were also treated to a fine array of canapés, including bowls of calamari and mini octopus, tender beef teriyaki, satay chicken, asparagus tempura, and a mango or mint chocolate truffles for dessert. There were also mini sweet trees decorated around the room, for those with a sweet tooth to get their regular sugar fix throughout the night.
In true circus style, male and female acrobats provided the entertainment, performing a number of choreographed impressive routines and Mr Barry M himself was there to celebrate along with his wife and son, who still seem humble despite starting off as a small family business and growing into the huge brand and success they are today. Joining the family were a number of celebrities dotted around the room, including the stunning Nicola Mclean, Elen Rivas, Kara Tointon and girl band of the moment, Stooshe. The tiny Nikki Grahame was also there, looking very fragile and a little worse for wear. Mel B’s sister and actress Danielle also joined the party along with some male friends.
We went on to enjoy several more glasses of Rosé and had a little boogie to the 80s numbers spun by the Dj, then headed off home with our goodie bags in tow filled with some lush nail paints, soda flavoured lip balms, eye shadow shimmer pots and some very girly b.tempt’d pink polka dot knickers. Overall, the night was a sparkling success!
