steventai autumn/winter 2018 collection presentation for LFW
Set in the neon streets of Macau, steventai’s autumn/winter 2018 collection was a celebration of east Asian culture, which was synonymous with Chinese New Year.
The designer’s beloved quirky bookworms and maths geeks were seen balancing their unassuming intellect with an increasing interest in elegance and luxury. Although not without their awkward charm, models were dressed in garments that seemed to be treasured, as though they had been handed down from their mothers, resulting in brilliantly clashing styles, textures and silhouettes.
The quintessential steventai girl has evolved through an effortless yet stunning makeshift wardrobe of hybrid looks and reconstructed patterns. The result: flamboyant looks created from rich velvet, corduroy and silk, juxtaposed with exposed linings and slashed pleats. Naturally, each ensemble was completed with a laidback manner.
Showcased at the historic Dubar Hall at the British Foreign Office, this collection also marked the first collaboration between the designer and Lucasfilm’s immersive entertainment division. Their combined expertise in technology and fashion transformed the traditional presentation setting into a new experience that was highly commended.
