Catherine Tough offering TLC for every home
If like us, you’re a fan of quirky homeware and knitted goodness, look no further than Catherine Tough. The products are simple yet elegant, which are created uniquely for the home and for the pleasure of giving. (Think of the John Lewis Christmas advert.) These are the sort of gifts you would love to adorn anybody with. Imagine how happy your friends or relatives would be if you presented them with this adorable mini chick!
Catherine is inspired by nature and travel, and her own personal aim to “make it new” by shifting traditional heritage craft into a playful, modern design. It sounds like a difficult thing to do, but Catherine has succeeded.
Since graduating from the Royal College of Art in 1999, she has produced Jacquard knits using fine lambswool yarn. To add to the process of altering these to something more contemporary, she has washed and felted them. The result is a luxuriant soft finish which offers years of comfort, something we all need in our lives from time to time.
We all worry, occasionally, of our precious homewares becoming tatty and smelly, but Catherine is always one step ahead, with her fragranced designs which are rich in natural lavender for a calming scent to evoke upon the home, bringing the natural of the outdoors, indoors. Personally, this is one of our favourites and an example of how Catherine has combined traditional knit with contemporary design.
What’s more, products are always made with tender loving care and skill from earth-given materials. They harmonise the home and soothe the soul, truly complementing any individual style with something for absolutely everybody.
We all know the British summer is unreliable and sometimes does not bring much happiness to anybody, especially when it is raining cats and dogs; the wind causes draughts and all you want to do is cosy up on the sofa, so why not purchase one of these to help you keep the warmth in.
