But, interestingly enough, the city has been used as a film location for more than 30 years. All kinds of movies have been filmed in Las Vegas – from old classics like Diamonds Are Forever (1974) to modern-day movies like Last Vegas (2013).

Rocky IV, 1985

In this movie Rocky Balboa, the world’s heavyweight boxing champion supports his friend Apollo Creed to a fight against a Russian boxer – Ivan Drago – who has been scientifically trained. Honeymoon in Vegas,1992

Starring famous names like Nicolas Cage and Sarah Jessica Parker, Honeymoon in Vegas portrays a romantic and comedic story set in Vegas. Two spouses fly from NYC to Las Vegas. Vegas being Vegas, however, it manages to lure the young bridegroom into gaming and he ultimately loses $65,000.

Diamonds Are Forever, 1971

Arguably the best movie from the James Bond movie sequence, Diamonds Are Forever is last in our list of the best movies set in Las Vegas. In this film, the well-known agent has to deal with thieves who are smuggling South African diamonds into the country. Agent Bond forms a team and goes to Vegas, where a member of his team visits the Circus Circus hotel.

After finding out where the stolen diamonds are hidden, agent Bond and his team set out to catch the thieves. But before putting the criminals behind bars, agent Bond has to take part in numerous games in renown establishments all over Vegas. Interestingly, one game which plays an essential role in the movie is still available to enjoy. The balloon game at the Circus Circus hotel is available for players at the price of just one dollar.
