How to dress for day to date night

Looking fabulous from day to night is what every woman wants. However, sometimes it is easier said than done, as the perfect day-to-night look is often hard to put together. Putting together a mix of clothes and accessories that will leave you looking chic in the office, and stunning just after the working hours is one of the biggest fashion challenges. We all know it too well, that failing to succeed will end up in either of the two extremes: overdressed for the office or slightly underdressed for the night out. A real fashion hack that will help you to pull that look off, is finding one very special item to which you can later add some evening essentials. Below are some tips that will allow you to transition from day to date night seamlessly.

Invest in a classic dress

If socialising after work is your thing, then the staple dress is the next essential piece worth investing in. Simple, yet flattering, a classic dress gives you the chance to pull off a stylish daywear look for the office and stand out from the crowd later in the evening. How? All you have to do is to put your favourite heels on or top it with a beautiful necklace. A smart dress with a flattering fit or added detailing such as scalloped edges will blend easily with the smart-casual style of your colleagues while leaving plenty of room to change it up for date night.

Mix up your accessories

If the thought of having to travel with your other outfit puts you off, why not to concentrate on vivid accessories that will go well with your smart dress instead? The best thing about most accessories is that they can be changed up easily, so as soon as the working day is done you can add a new necklace or some bold eye-catching earrings. From the glittering clutch bags, statement jewellery, to bold headbands, stylish extras can really turn the boring office outfit around. Whether you are silver or a gold person, try searching for accessories that either add a pop of colour or added sparkle, to give your staple dress (and the night) a little glow! After all, the devil is in the detail. Popping on some statement shoes can also help transition your outfit from workwear to wow so it’s worth keeping a pair of heels on standby near your desk for those spontaneous date nights.

Refresh up your hair and makeup

After the whole day at work, the makeup that you applied in the morning might look a little bit worn out by now. It’s always a good idea to carry with you a mini makeup set to that will help you to refresh before the big night out or a dinner date. Adding some colour when you off the clock is the first step to shake off the boring office look.  The near effortless and tested way is to pull off a bold lip with a lipstick or a lip gloss. Thinking of staying faithful to the classics? Then the tested colours of  Bordeaux or brilliant red lipstick is your friend. For a more modest look, you might want to stick to nude-ish pink lipsticks with lean toward brown and caramel. Don’t forget to dust a bit of translucent powder to diminish shine on your face, add a spritz of your favourite evening perfume and you’re good to go for the evening.
