Pamella Roland spring/summer 2019 collection catwalk show for LFWM
Pamella Roland showed her Bali-inspired spring/summer 2019 collection to a celebrity-filled front row at Pier 59. The runway was filled with bold colours, stunning silhouettes and more than enough sequins to satisfy all the brand’s famous fans.
Roland specialises in full-throttle glamour and this season did not disappoint. The collection was filled with evening wear for every possible occasion. From long and dramatic to a quite short strapless mini dress and everything in between, Pamella Roland produced looks from demure to daring for a wide range of women who want to stand out.
While there were a variety of silhouettes, dramatic details reigned supreme. Several of the looks incorporated Roland’s signature illusion necklines while others were embellished with three-dimensional embroidery and sequins. Voluminous shapes were created using pleated tulle and ostrich plumes. One particularly over-the-top style had a delightful spray of feathers bursting from the strapless neckline.
While the collection had a variety of vivid colours, the most prevalent were a bright, sunshine yellow and shades of pink that made the collection feel like a trip to a tropical paradise. The result was an evening wear collection that felt seasonal and young despite the use of some heavier fabrics like jacquard.
The Pamella Roland customer is clearly a woman with an active social life and ample opportunities to dress up. With the wide variation in fabrics and construction, Pamella Roland was able to send thirty-four looks down the runway and each one felt completely unique. This season the biggest challenge for Roland’s customers will be how to choose which of her luxurious looks to wear first.
