Fashion Palette spring/summer 2019 collection catwalk show for NYFW

This season Fashion Palette presented their largest show yet to a full house of fashion insiders at Industria Studios. The group show consisted of eleven Australian designers who took the opportunity to show their upbeat, high energy collections to the New York audience.

Bronx and Banco, the nearly ten-year-old label, presented a collection of party-ready clothing. Sequins were the order of the day and were featured on many of the garments. Ruffles also reigned supreme on these playful designs that looked ready to dance the night away.

 

 

The Saski Collection featured a range of sporty athleisure. Made by fitness trainer Tammy Hembrow, the collection is designed to transition from workout wear to streetwear. The elevated workout basics and cosy cropped sweatshirts capitalise on the current trends for “wear anywhere” clothing that is both fashionable and functional.

 

 

The fall collection from ELIATT was a feminine fantasy. Floral prints and ruffles gave the show a 1970’s boho vibe. The three-dimensional embroidery and metallic details updated the vintage inspiration for a modern consumer.

DA by Daniel Alexander showed a collection titled “DA of OZ.” The designer played off the ideas of good and evil through the inspiration of The Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch. Edgy dark outfits were foils for shimmering light gowns. If the cast or The Wizard of Oz were going out in 2019, this is what they would wear.

 

 

Run by three sisters from Melbourne, the athleisure inspired-looks from NNCY had a strong dose of early 90’s nostalgia. The runway was dominated by a bold colour selection of red, black, and denim blue that pulled together the cohesive and casual collection.

Though the line just debuted this year, Jagger and Stone presented a collection perfectly honed to their self-proclaimed ideal client: the party girl. The show had a vintage rock’n’roll vibe with lots of leather and plaid. Details seemed to reference inspiration as divergent as Clueless and The Rolling Stones and yet, somehow, it worked.

 

 

Santina Nicole showed a collection of pretty and modern womenswear. Draped white outfits were paired with designs in pops of bold reds and pale pinks which gave a feminine look to some of the more clean-lined architectural silhouettes.

An easy to wear athleisure collection designed by model and influencer Sapphiroula, The Blonde Republic was filled with comfortable looking basics in pale neutrals and black tones. One of the standout designs was the bodysuits which were versatile as outerwear or loungewear.

 

 

The Elle Zeitoune runway show featured a line of glamorous gowns. The collection had strong structural details like ruffled shoulders and hemlines. The overall vision felt like an updated version of 1980’s power wear.

Harvey The Label showed a playful, youthful collection of seperates and flirty dresses at fashion week. The brand is known for its limited edition fashions with a high end look for an affordable price and this season seemed to hit that aesthetic perfectly.

 

 

Accessories brand Avery Verse produces classic bags with eco-friendly Italian leather.

A group show like Fashion Palette is always a wonderful way to see the range of up-and-coming designers who are making their mark on the international scene.
