Let Zeena bring colour and fun into your home
In pulsating Shoreditch, the most creative hub in town right now, not far from Hoxton Square, at the corner of Boot Street and Coronet Street, there is a heart that beats. It’s that of a cute and lively studio, run by Zeena Shah, who has a genuine passion for textiles and homeware.
With a BA in printed textile design from Chelsea School of Art, and after several experiences as a fashion and textile designer, Zeena launched her own brand in 2009 that aims to convey all her biggest loves: patterns and fabrics, hand silk-screen print technique and Scandinavian style. The challenge was to make a living doing what she loves.
The Nordic-inspired collection includes delicious accessories for various rooms of the house, from the kitchen to the bathroom, through to the bedroom plus some complementary products for gift packaging, such as quirky sticky tape, wrapping and cards.
Zeena favours the silk-screen print, which uses stencils to transfer images on to fabrics, paper and other material. In this way, a whole universe of graphical and colourful birds, owls, leaves and hearts lives on old-style blankets and throws, on cushions and shabby-chic multi-purpose tote bags. Of course, in a cosy house you cannot miss the tea towels for the daily afternoon break, as well as the lavender bags – leaf or heart shape – a smart trick of our grandmas to keep garments fresh in the draw.
Everything is designed to make your time more comfortable spent at home. Zeena runs an intense programme of craft workshops for both adults and children and she’s even worked with museums, including The National Portrait Gallery.
She’s a powerhouse of ideas and often you can find her hosting some “screen printing parties” or theme nights all over the city. But there’s more: something new is brewing!
Zeena will totally revamp her studio and she’ll be waiting for all of us at the opening ceremony of the pop up temporary shop from 10th to 15th of July.
