Richard Malone autumn/winter 2019 collection catwalk show for LFW
A family birthday party set the scene for Richard Malone’s autumn/winter 2019 show, which exhibited a dressing up wardrobe intended to span generations.
Sustainability is of great significance to this designer, who took care to minimalise waste during the manufacturing process: faux fur soles were repurposed old dog beds; dresses were cut from precisely one metre of fabric and shaped through contouring by hand.
Retro party plate prints took centre stage, alongside varying chequered patterns, frayed silk and laddered knits that enveloped the figure like wrapping paper. Meanwhile, sharp-shouldered suiting, mohair outerwear and vibrant dresses catered for the grown-ups.
