Bond 25: What can we expect?

How is it possible that so much time has passed since our screens were both shaken and stirred by our most beloved of all agents 007 – James Bond?

We love our spy films in fact, and all the danger and glamour of the places Bond visits, from the luxury resorts to the gaming halls – something that can be done from home thanks to web portals. There is nothing quite like the excitement and risk, and when that is coupled with one of the most beloved of spies who simply oozes class, then the movie makers know that they are onto a winner.

Bond 25 was reportedly due to be released in October 2019 but due to “creative differences” Danny Boyle, the original director, pulled out of the project. Some quarters have reported that the creative differences were Boyle was very reluctant to kill off Bond at the end of the film – which in all fairness would put an end to this incredibly lucrative and popular franchise – killing off Bond? – now that’s something to ponder over.

Apparently both Daniel Craig and producer Barbara Broccoli both wanted some type of spectacular finale – Bond dying in some glorious way – but Boyle labelled the idea as ridiculous.

Not only were there creative differences but Daniel Craig also did some paternal care helping out wife Rachel Weisz after she gave birth to their first child. Craig then signed up to play the lead in a murder mystery film Knives Out which is due to begin filming in November, a month before the Bond film was due to go into production.

All of these elements have pushed back the long-awaited 25^th Bond film release date to 14^th February 2020 – no, sorry, scratch that sentence as there are yet MORE delays setting the release date in the UK to 3^rd April 2020, and release in the US on 8^th April 2020.

But as this film has been dogged with delays and differences of opinions, well let’s just hope these dates stick. So, who can we expect to see in the cast of Bond 25?

As well as Daniel Craig in what is expected to be his final outing as agent 007 after 2015’s Spectre, the cast is to include Lea Seydoux (Madeleine Swann), Naomie Harris (Moneypenny), Ralph Fiennes (M), Ben Whishaw (Q), Jeffrey Wright (Felix Leiter) and Rory Kinnear (Bill Tanner).

Rami Malek will also be starring in Bond 25 – a point that had been speculated upon for quite a while – and apparently, he intends to makes sure that 007 does not have an easy ride in his 25^th outing.

Also joining the cast will be Ana de Armas, David Dencik, Dali Benssalah, Billy Magnussen and Lashana Lynch (who starred in Captain Marvel).

Fukunaga is the new director and was the director and executive producer of the first season 2014 HBO series True Detective which won him an Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series.
