Bachelorette movies to relive the party
There are many ways of having bachelorette parties. From fun, weekend trips, to city getaways, home sleepovers, tea brunches and more. However, no matter the amount of loud and vibrant events, from pub crawls, to photoshoots, drink if bachelorette games and even picnics, nothing quite compares a night in watching a favourite movie together. Introducing the bachelorette party movie.
You could choose that your day of activities culminates in a sleepover which will include a bachelor party movie night. Relive the fun of your childhood with a pyjama slumber party. You could gift your girls sexy teddies or sleepwear, eye masks, and even have a few girls night games. Top it off with pizza, popcorn and the right movies, and you’ll have a movie marathon bachelorette party night to remember.
Bridesmaids (2011)
Played by Kristen Wiig as Annie; a single mom with her life in a mess, suddenly finds herself a maid of honour when her best friend gets engaged. The bridesmaids she finds herself stuck with aren’t any better, and from one seeming disaster to the other, they take to pave a wild and winding path to the wedding.
While this is not what you might hope for your wedding, this is definitely a fun and comedic brides-to-be movie that would be great for your bachelorette night together.
Rough Night (2017)
Another wild bachelorette party played by Scarlett Johansson, Kate McKinnon, Zoë Kravitz, Jillian Bell and Ilana Glazer, Rough Night is a hilarious and sometimes dark movie in which a stripper dies.
The events that follow as they try to cover up their tracks, bring the girls even closer together. Movies like Rough Night are perfect for a bachelorette movie night for girls who know they are stronger together.
Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011)
In this sweet, feel-good movie, Ryan Gosling, who plays the part of Jacob Palmer, tries to teach a thing or two about women to Cal Weaver (Steve Carell), who recently discovered his wife is having an affair and is about to leave him.
These types of movies are a great addition to a movie marathon for any group of women together. Even better when it is the night of a bachelorette party.
The Hangover (2009)
Even though this movie is male-focused, it still weaves a story about all the things that can go wrong in Las Vegas just before a couple’s nuptials. Also, who wouldn’t want to see Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha and Ed Helms again in this popular comedy.
If there’s any pre-wedding party film to get the girls squealing and having fun even though they might have seen it time and time again, it would be The Hangover. One of the best bachelor party movies out there.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002)
Any bride with a big family would appreciate watching this movie with her girls before she takes the plunge. My Big Fat Greek Wedding is a fun, feel-good movie about Toula (Nia Vardalos) falling in love with Ian Miller (John Corbett). The fun part is that her large Greek family, the Portokalos’s, take front and centre stage in this movie from beginning to the end.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005)
If you’re looking for a lively gal-pal movie for your night in with the girls, this just might be it. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants features Blake Lively, America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel, and Amber Tamblyn playing the parts of best friends who share a pair of jeans. Though they have been living in the same city of Maryland, they must now separate for a while, and so the pants begin their journey.
Bachelorette (2012)
Operation Save the wedding gown is on in this movie, when bridesmaids, played by Kirsten Dunst and Isla Fisher ruin the dress of their gal pal, the bride, played by Rebel Wilson. Asides trying to find a replacement gown, their night constitutes a trail of drugs, booze, nightclubbing and ex-boyfriends.
Someone Great (2019)
Another tale about love and the strength of female friendships, this movie is one of adventure, heartbreak and two people finding themselves again. Another title to add to your already long list of best party movies.
Jumping the Broom (2011)
A great pre-wedding movie, this is one that depicts all that can go wrong when both families of the couple just can’t seem to get it together but must find a way to make it work despite their differences.
Girls Trip (2017)
Though not about an upcoming wedding, this movie about four best friends on a girl’s trip after being apart for so long explores all of the feels between really good friends. Not unlike the friendship that usually exists in a bridal party
Bachelorette party movies do not strictly have to be about weddings or wedding parties. They could also just be favourite, fun movies chosen by your gal pals for an enjoyable night together. Take your pick.
