Five food deliveries worth staying at home for this Easter

For obvious reasons, staying in is the new going out. Some of us have doubtless had fun exercising our culinary muscles – some more creaky than others – or rekindling our relationship with Dominoes, but when it comes to Easter, we are looking for something special. While we can’t offer you a seat at your favourite restaurant, we can offer you the next best thing: deliveries from some of London’s top eateries. Here are five meals to resurrect your taste buds.

Hide at Home

If you’re a foodie, you’ve probably heard of Ollie Dabbous. After closing his acclaimed eponymous restaurant back in 2017 to open Hide and it’s adjoining cocktail bar Hide Below, the chef has gone from strength to strength. But despite being accustomed to delivering a bespoke fine dining experience, Dabbous is now delivering all the way to your door. What’s more, new initiative Hide at Home is now offering a special Easter menu, available from 10^th-12^th April, which includes mouth-watering Roast Herdwick Lamb Saddle with Confit New Potatoes with Butter & Parsley and even features a list of sommelier-selected wines. What better way to celebrate the spring? The menu comes it at £48 per person, and is available for groups of two and above.

12:51 Around the Cluck

If you’re looking for something that packs a flavour punch, chef James Cochran has your back. His restaurant 12:51, nestled in the heart of Shoreditch, is now offering a special Around the Cluck service in order to deliver his trademark Buttermilk Jamaican Jerk Chicken. It might not be your conventional Easter lunch, but we’ve tried it and you can trust us on this one: it’s worth starting a new tradition. The menu is a lot more laid back, featuring both chicken and vegetarian burgers as well as a selection of sides, dips and drinks. Perfect for creating that relaxed holiday feel. The Cheese Truck

At this point in time, most of us will cling onto any excuse to open a bottle of wine. So why not forgo the other courses this Easter and get straight to the main event: the cheeseboard. Though The Cheese Bar have closed their restaurants, they are determined to support the British dairy industry by sending supplies to cheese-lovers in need. The truck will be visiting a range of London locations, offering “Self Isolation Survival Kits”, which you can tailor and pre-order online. The scheduled drop-off points include Southwark, Lambeth and Wandsworth on 10^th April, Ealing, Hammersmith, Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea on 11^th April and Islington, Cambed, Haringey and Barnet on Sunday 12^th April.

Hakkasan

For those who want to put the east in Easter, Mayfair’s michelin-starred Chinese restaurant, Hakkasan, is available to order on Supper. If you are living on your own, you could opt for the all-encompassing Taste of Hakassan for £35, or if you are with a partner or friends, there are various options for groups from the Bamboo and Dragon menus ranging from £79 to £250. If you want to mix it up, choose you own selection of Dim Sum and modern Cantonese delicacies. It might not be your regular choice, but this is not your regular Easter weekend.

Zuma

To really embrace the experimental and get as far from the Sunday roast as you possibly can, why not swap from cooked meat to raw fish with a sushi banquet from Zuma in Knightsbridge? Tuck into some contemporary Japanese cuisine, ranging from favourites such as maki rolls and a selection of traditional plates on the robata grill to more adventurous dishes such as Half-Roasted Lobster and Barley Miso Marinated Baby Chicken.
