Taste of London is back in July for two weekends featuring the city’s hottest restaurants

This July, Taste of London is pumped to welcome back foodies and newcomers alike to the capital’s favourite food festival. Tickets are on sale for the ten-day event, where you’ll experience a limitless array of the latest and most inventive dishes from the city’s hottest restaurants, giving you the chance to catch up on a year’s worth of dining out. 

With over 135 dishes to try across the ten days, you’re guaranteed to find something to enjoy from London’s multicultural, diverse restaurant scene. From fine-dining dishes to street food favourites, check out the website to find out which of your favourites will be cooking up a storm across the weekends, with Napoli Gang, Flesh & Buns and Burger & Lobster booked in for a double-weekender. Those attending 7^th-11^th July will get to tuck into plates from all-day breakfast maestros Egg Run, fusion restaurant Fatt Pundit and West African favourite Chishuru. Whereas 14^th-18^th July will provide a selection of new faces, including Italian Japanese restaurant Angelina, Japanese restaurant Taka and Casa Calavera by Hakkasan, the very first virtual culinary pop-up that combines authentic Mexican techniques with innovative twists.

With the anticipated return of Taste of London, the festival has packed in a mouth-watering selection of restaurants which will take turn to showcase brand new dishes in the Daily Specials area, presented by delivery platform Just Eat. Visitors will have the chance to taste culinary treats from fantastic eateries including Rudy’s Vegan Diner, Santo Remedio, Juici Jerk, Chishuru and many more.

The taste adventure doesn’t finish there: alongside restaurants there’ll be a series of exclusive dining experiences, masterclasses and demonstrations for you to kickstart your food exploration. The Fire Pit is back with London’s “hottest” chefs bringing a rare insight into open-flame cooking skills and a limited, curated menu of dishes available for onlookers to purchase. Heading up the line-up is Jack Whitehall & Marcus Petty-Saphon’s meat mania-concept Food Slut with chef Thom Bateman, who will join lockdown superstar Hot4U which was set up by ex-head chef of Cub Matthew Scott and Eddy Tejada of St John. 

For budding chefs who want to try their hand amongst the best in London, head to “Chop It Like It’s Hot”, a Taste Kitchen dedicated to intimate hands-on experiences with your culinary heroes. Get some chef facetime and tips to take home from Chef’s Table’s Asma Khan from Darjeeling Express, zero-waste New Yorker chef Max La Manna, Jikoni’s Ravinder Bhogal, as well as best-selling author and Holborn Dining Room’s very own Nokx Majozi. Each chef will host up to 40 people a time with three slots to book in a session, so don’t hang around for a one-way ticket to chef quality cooking at home.

New for 2021 is NEFF Cook & Connect. NEFF are supporting the hospitality industry by providing independent producers and chefs the opportunity to host live demonstrations and sample their produce. The area will provide underrepresented chefs and industry professionals with a platform to promote their story and host conversations about key issues within the culinary industry.

Accor Live Limitless, the lifestyle loyalty programme of the Accor group joins Taste of London and will offer bespoke private dining experiences with their top chefs as well as masterclasses to its members. Official champagne partner Champagne Laurent-Perrier have teamed up with The Berkeley on a patisserie-pairing menu, inspired by the hotel’s legendary fashion afternoon tea Prêt-à-Portea. The special champagne edition will see stylish, edible creations paired with Laurent-Perrier’s much-admired Cuvée Rosé.

The Diners Club® VIP Lounge will be available for those wanting to upgrade their Taste experience and treat themselves to a little bit of luxury with garden games, hammocks, cocktail bar service and exclusive workshops and tastings available to those involved. New to this summer’s festival is the Aspall Picnic Meadow, serving up an elevated picnic experience, complemented by Aspall Cyder and the music of a string quartet playing arrangements with a modern twist.

Taste of London is the must-attend event for summer 2021, being one of the first foodie events to arrive in London once restrictions are lifted, and promising plenty of surprises from London’s hottest restaurants and chefs. Whilst they’ve doubled the number of festival days, each date has reduced tickets due to capacity restrictions, so don’t hang around and risk going hungry.
