For three nights only, the Apollo Theatre is being lit up by some of the West End’s greatest voices in a show of support and celebration for the theatre industry.

Monday Night at the Apollo is an intimate evening with a panel of musical theatre stars. It’s candid, fun, entertaining conversation about theatre – the highs, the lows, getting into it, musical idols and more, with plenty of raucous anecdotes throughout. One will never feel closer to the stage than during this show. 

And while the chat between these funny, brilliant people is more than enough, the really extra special treat that Monday Night at the Apollo offers is their songs. Every few minutes, one of the cast gets up to stun the audience with their voice. These numbers are handpicked by the performers, some from the musicals they’ve appeared in and some that they have another personal connection to, resulting in the most beautiful, emotionally-charged night of music. 

The first night’s line-up in May is a phenomenal combination of Aimie Atkinson (Legally Blonde, Six), Cassidy Janson (Chess, & Juliet), Lucie Jones (Waitress, Les Misérables), Cedric Neal (Chess, Back to the Future: The Musical) and Julian Ovenden (Downton Abbey, Bridgerton), hosted and produced by Greg Barnett. With a musical group as powerful as this, every single number is a stand-out performance that feels special to have seen. 

Monday Night at the Apollo is the perfect return to the theatre. A total celebration of everything held dear about the stage, bringing the audience closer to it than ever and boiling over the with excitement of what’s to come, now that theatre doors around the country are reopening. Streamed to homes around the country but also with a live audience that really ramps up that wonderful theatrical feeling again, it’s a genuinely lovely evening. Plus, Monday Night at the Apollo is raising money for Acting for Others that supports theatrical charities – work that has perhaps never been more important than it is right now.
