Ten brand new breakfast and brunch menus to try out in London
It’s safe to say there’s no shortage of brunch options in London. However, some new contenders are popping up this summer, offering morning menus which might just jump to the top of your visit list. We’ve rounded up a few offerings that you might not have heard of, from breakfast baos to bottomless biryanis.
Bao Breakfast
Café Bao in King’s Cross have launched a weekend breakfast, drawing influence from Taiwanese cuisine and the western-style cafes found throughout Asia. The menu combines both eastern and western breakfast classics, alongside a line-up of Bao Bakery goods and a selection of hot drinks inspired by morning traditions. Fans can order the brand-new Sausage Hash Brown Breakfast Bao, a signature gua bao filled with a sausage and cheese patty, layered with a hash brown and a fried egg, or opt for highlights such as Taiwanese Savoury Soy Milk, a version of the traditional dou jiang breakfast dish. Breakfast and weekend brunch at Maison Francois
Maison François, the modern-day French brasserie in the heart of St James’s, has launched breakfast and brunch menus, adding an early morning start to the all-day brasserie experience. Welcoming in the weekend, brunch at Maison François will be laissez faire, with the dining room abuzz with the shucking of Loch Ryan oysters, pastries from the famous dessert trolley and the pouring of pet nat, pinot and cocktails. Bottomless Biryani Brunch at Cinnamon Bazaar
The Bottomless Biriyani Brunch has landed on the cobbled streets of Covent Garden at Cinnamon Bazaar. Head to Maiden Lane any day between noon and 4pm and fill up on some of the best Indian food in London. Brunchers can choose from three of Chef Vivek Singh’s divine biriyanis: subtle and sweet Lucknow-style chicken biryani, fragrant Hyderabadi lamb or Khari Baoli root vegetable biryani, all accompanied by Anda curry and Burhani raita. French-influenced brunch at Cocotte
Cocotte – home to the best rotisserie chicken this side of the Channel – has launched a delicious, French-influenced weekend brunch at each of its neighbourhood restaurants. Available from 10am-4pm at weekends in Notting Hill, Parsons Green, Queen’s Park and Shoreditch, the brunch includes croissant waffles with sweet chilli chicken thigh and a fried egg; and cinnamon French toast with a caramelised rum banana, red berry coulis and vanilla crème chantilly. Japanese-Peruvian brunch at Ayllu
If you are looking for something a little different, there’s a new brunch menu in town that’s sure to serve up a pleasant surprise. Ayllu is a Peruvian-Japanese fusion restaurant located in the heart of Paddington. Hidden away below Smith’s Bar and Grill, this exclusive venue blends effortless cool with party vibes with a range of specially curated cocktails, sushi, ceviche and bao buns. La Fiesta Brunch at Aqua Nueva
Those searching for their latest brunch spot will be able to celebrate with Aqua Nueva’s new La Fiesta brunch, which offers authentic Spanish tapas, free flowing cocktails, live music and entertainment. Brunch-goers are served a variety of tapas dishes from the Andalusia region starting with a Southern Spanish delicacy, salmorejo, and then moving onto crystal bread and aioli, a classic Spanish tortilla with red piquillo purée and a selection of croquettes. The brunch will also include a selection of chorizo, chicken and seared salmon skewers served with a traditional southern papas aliñas salad, followed by raspberry churros with Paedro Ximénez chocolate sauce to finish. Carnaval Brunch at Temakinho
Temakinho London is scheduled to resume their Carnaval Brunch event this Autumn, with a date set in October. Guests will have the chance to enjoy The Temakinho Experience which involves incredible Brazilian Sushi, Bottomless Cocktails and Carnaval Entertainment at Soho’s Temakinho on Old Compton Street. Temakinho’s playful menu boasts an incredible selection of Sushi Rolls, Temaki, Brazilian Tapas and delicious cocktails that can all be tasted amongst the beautiful and exuberant decor at Temakinho. Bottomless brunches at Boxpark
Boxpark, London’s biggest food, culture and entertainment venue, continues its brunch saga in September with a diverse line-up of bottomless brunch parties at its Shoreditch, Croydon and Wembley outlets. This begins with Bougie Drag Brunch at Boxpark Wembley on Sunday 19th September, where you can indulge in 90 minutes of bottomless cocktails and a line-up of Boxpark’s delicious street food traders whilst you enjoy unforgettable performances of iconic drag queens. Great Hits all-day menu at Riding House Cafe
This month, Fitzrovia’s Riding House Café launched its Greatest Hits Menu, created by executive chef Henry Omereye in celebration of its tenth birthday. With the restaurant widely attributed to pioneering all-day dining within London, the Greatest Hits menu is a celebration of Riding House Café’s most popular dishes and drinks over the past decade. Dishes on the birthday menu include the decadent Lobster Lasagne, served with a grilled lobster claw perched on top of a molten cheese crust, and the indulgent Eggs Hussard. Fat Tony’s Full Fat Brunch at The Anthologist
DJ Fat Tony is set to grace the decks at leading cocktail bar The Anthologist for a brunch celebration like no other. A legend on London’s party scene, DJ Fat Tony presents Full Fat Brunch – a series of weekend events held in the heart of the city, near Bank, from 18th September. Experience high energy and glamour as Fat Tony spins his staple sounds, alongside some of his favourite national and international artists and an entourage of dancers.
