The Venetian

The Bellagio

The Bellagio is one of the largest resorts on the Strip on a site of nearly 77 acres. It comprises 14,500 square metres of entertainment and almost 4,000 hotel rooms. 

Work on the project began back in 1992 when the Bellagio owners bought up the Dunes, which had been on this site since the 50s. Three years later, the Italian-themed mega-resort was opened. It’s based on the beautiful lakeside town of Bellagio, near Como in Italy, and one of the main attractions is the enormous expanse of water surrounding it.

Many people will be familiar with the Fountains of Bellagio spectacle, which sits in a 3.5-hectare, man-made lake using thousands of lights and water jets to wow the crowds. 

The high-class theme continues throughout with a gallery of fine art, a conservatory and botanical gardens. The hotel lobby also features the world’s largest glass sculpture. Within the resort, there is an haute couture retail section with some of the world’s biggest fashion houses making an appearance.

Circus Circus

Circus Circus hotel and resort is focused more on family entertainment and slightly more affordable amenities. It’s possible to stay here from as little as $25 a night, which is considerably less than many of the larger resorts on the Strip. This hotel may not be as aesthetically pleasing as the Bellagio, for example, but what it lacks in immediate striking beauty, it makes up for with good old-fashioned entertainment at the right price.

The main tower is in the shape of a pyramid, while a separate set of twin towers feature 22 stories of further accommodation.

Luxor is a family-orientated resort with four swimming pools, a wedding chapel and several retail outlets. There is also a popular spa, offering pampering services all day and night. One of the main features of the hotel is the external lifts, which scale the sides of the pyramid. Another popular attraction is the light beam that fires from the top of the pyramid. It is the strongest beam of light in the world using curved mirrors.
