Sigrid at Wembley Arena
Sigrid ended her rescheduled UK headlining tour at London’s Wembley Arena on Saturday night, bringing fans an astounding, long-awaited set.
The Norwegian pop star appeared on stage amidst a galactic backdrop, opening the gig with one of her hit songs, It Gets Dark. During the first song of the night, the confetti cannons set to go off missed the crowd, leaving the streamers stuck in the lighting rigs above, where they remained hanging over her fans through the entire set – but nobody seemed to care. The show continued, full of energy from not only the audience but from Sigrid herself.
As the set went on, she performed some of her most iconic songs such as Head on Fire (which usually features Griff), Sucker Punch, and Burning Bridges, all of which kept the entirety of the venue upbeat and energetic.
In the middle of Sigrid’s set, she took to the piano to perform two songs on her own, Dynamite and Bad Life (the latter featuring British band Bring Me the Horizon on her newest album, How to Let Go). This solo piano performance turned emotional between the two songs, when the Norwegian singer spoke of how playing in London was a big accomplishment for her – something she had always dreamed of, growing up in a small town in Norway.
Throughout the rest of the performance, the artist kept the atmosphere lively and all the vibes up, singing more of her popular offerings, such as Don’t Kill My Vibe and Strangers. Both were accompanied by what seemed like the whole venue at the top of their lungs, definitely the most popular of the show. The night ended on a high note, as Sigrid concluded with another huge hit, hit single Mirror, which has over 40 million streams on Spotify.
Without a doubt, the girl from a small town in Norway, rocked the roof off Wembley Arena with her seemingly effortless stage presence and upbeat pop songs, and this was a concert that many Sigrid fans will never forget.
