King Princess at Koko
Tuesday night, renowned American pop artist King Princess played to a sold-out Koko in London. As a haze of pink lights flooded the venue, King Princess took to the stage, opening with the song Little Brother off of latest album Hold On Baby (2022) and sending what seemed like the entire crowd into a wave of excitement for what was to come throughout the remainder of the night. Throughout the gig, there were several sound-related issues, but it didn’t stop King Princess from giving the performance that everyone came to see.
Sticking to what the majority of her fanbase knows her for, the singer included a number of songs from her 2019 debut Cheap Queen during the night’s setlist, which led to the audience singing along to some of her most popular works such as Ain’t Together, Prophet and Cheap Queen. Throughout the evening, a few unreleased tracks were also debuted, giving fans a glimpse into what’s to come from the multi-instrumentalist.
Towards the end of the set, King Princess delighted the crowd with some of her hit singles such as 1950, the song that led to her breakthrough success by climbing the charts to make the top 20 of the billboard top 200 in 2018. The American pop singer also played Pussy Is God, and her latest release Kill Your Pain, which features Boyish.
Finishing the night strong, King Princess ended her London show on an absolute high by giving fans a dazzling encore that consisted of one of her most popular songs Talia, which was released in 2018 after the success of 1950, before ultimately ending the impressive set with the ever-stunning Ohio from Cheap Queen.
King Princess gave the crowd at Koko exactly what they came to see: a beautiful and unique performance full of hit songs, good vibes and a stage presence that only she could provide.
