British Singer-Songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor set to perform at 2024 EE BAFTA Film Awards
British pop sensation Sophie Ellis-Bextor is slated to perform her chart-topping hit Murder on the Dancefloor at the upcoming 2024 EE British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs). The ceremony, which will be broadcast live on Sunday 18th February 2024 on BBC One, iPlayer and BritBox International, will feature Ellis-Bextor’s performance from Saltburn, a British film directed by Emerald Fennell. The event marks the resurgence of the song which has become a viral sensation, propelling it back into international music charts 22 years after its initial release.
The BAFTAs, set to be hosted by David Tennant at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall, will showcase Ellis-Bextor’s live performance during the ceremony. Her hit single has enjoyed newfound success, trending on Instagram and TikTok, and achieving significant streaming numbers on Spotify and YouTube. The song has also made its way into the Billboard Top 100 in America, continuing to rise in popularity.
