First look at Sarah Snook’s return to the West End in The Picture of Dorian Gray
Just landed are the first pictures of Sarah Snook in her much-anticipated one-woman take on The Picture of Dorian Gray.
Celebrated for her role in the critically acclaimed TV show Succession, Snook makes a dazzling return to London’s West End, after her notable performance opposite Ralph Fiennes in The Master Builder at the Old Vic.
Kip Williams’s unique adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s haunting classic explores themes of vanity, ideals of beauty and the capricious nature of contemporary society. Originally debuted in Sydney in 2020, this adaptation now arrives on in the UK capital, with Snook taking on all 26 roles in the play.
“I am elated to return to the London stage in such an astonishing piece of theatre,” Snook said in a statement. “From Oscar Wilde’s remarkable original text to Kip Williams’ stunning adaptation, this story of morality, innocence, narcissism and consequence is going to be thrilling to recreate for a new audience. I can’t wait.”
The show opens this week at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, with a run of 14 weeks. Stay tuned for The Upcoming’s review.
