Eras tour: Eight epic reactions swifties made to Taylor Swift’s cruel summer performance
The Eras Tour is undoubtedly one of the greatest live musical entertainments to be organised in the 21st century. So many media outlets have described it as so, with many music critics being compelled, by the amazing acts that Taylor Swift has put up amidst each of her performances, to concur with the fact.
Today, so many blogs talk about Taylor Swift and the “Eras Tour.” Recently, the singer showed no signs of backing out of the spotlight, as she dropped one of the biggest records of her career “The Tortured Poets Department,” which has now taken over the charts in Europe and America, making her the talk of town, all over again.
Taylor started her career in the music industry back in 2003. She dropped her first official single in 2006, “Tim McGraw” through her debut studio album, “Taylor Swift.” The album received global recognition at that time because she was signed to “Big Machine Records” in 2005. It was clear that Taylor Swift was the next big thing right from then, but no one knew it would take the “Eras Tour” for the world to believe this.
The “Eras Tour” was initiated by Taylor Swift in March 2023; one year down, and it has already landed her on the list of musical billionaires. The most intriguing thing about Taylor Swift and the “Eras Tour” is the fact that she was able to achieve what no other musician has, and that is accumulating more than $1 billion through 60 shows.
Elton John and his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” came close with $939 million. But that was after 330 shows spread across 5 years. By the time Taylor Swift organised a tour of 330 shows; she would be competing with Mark Zuckerberg or Bill Gates as the richest person in the world.
But, let’s not drift from the main idea of this article, which is to check out 8 epic reactions Swifties made to Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” performance. In some cities where Taylor Swift performed during the “Eras Tour,” “Cruel Summer” is the song she performs first, and it always creates a magical experience for all.
The “Eras Tour” is in its last days of activity, and coupled with the popularity of the tour, which keeps increasing every day, tickets to the event are still too hard to get. But, you can still catch up with the fun, and get Taylor Swift tickets through a tickets marketplace.
Eight pic reactions Swifties made to Taylor Swift’s Cruel Summer performance amidst the Eras tour
Let’s check them out.
“I’m a die-hard metalhead and not a ‘Swiftie’”
You know Taylor Swift is hitting the right spot when people who are not lovers of her genre decide to drop by to catch a glimpse of her greatness.
The comment made by @scottbbt81 on YouTube is, “I’m a die-hard metalhead and not a “Swiftie” by any means, but I cannot understand for the life of me how anyone is not blown away by this woman’s talent. If it’s not music you personally like, that’s fine. But there is no denying that she is one of the most gifted artists of this century, if not ever.”
If this isn’t epic, what is?
“She Made Her Fans to Cry”
Okay, at first sight of this, it might give you the wrong impression. But, Swifties cried during Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” performance because they felt the vibe.
This comment was dropped by @jjjj5452, and the full text is, “Making her fans cry. That’s power right there, she can be US president.”
Surely, making Taylor Swift the US president was a bit too extreme, especially since we know she wouldn’t be interested in something like that. But, don’t worry JJ, we know exactly how you feel.
“The Debate Isn’t If She Can Sing or Not”
@clarecatherine8387, on YouTube, said, “The debate isn’t if she can sing or not. She’s improved so much over the years. Look at the joy and happiness she brings to an 80,000-person stadium. I’m a musician, and I’m not a Swiftie, but my word you cannot even say for a second she is bad at what she does. She’s a true force to be reckoned with.”
This sort of contradicts some of the allegations made by some celebrities in the entertainment industry, about Taylor Swift being a faker. We don’t want to mention names, because we’re assuming y’all already know who it is.
It might be a case of jealousy, certainly, this user, who is a musician, and not even a Swiftie, as well doesn’t buy that crap.
“I’m a Man and I Don’t Know Why I’m Here”
Now, there’s been an argument online about men not being categorised as Swifties, mostly because they are too masculine to be so. Well, aside from the gist about a guy who chooses to work as a security at Taylor Swift’s concert, just to attend it, we now have another man, who’s earned the title, “Swiftie.”
@forestlink6673 was drawn to her performance by snippets posted by fans online. He came to YouTube searching for a section of the song, and guess what popped up, “Cruel Summer.” Guess again, who’s now a certified Swiftie?
“I Love Her Sparkly Outfit”
This reaction was made by @DecafBallad, and it was directed towards Taylor Swift’s “Lover Era” outfit. For those who don’t know, Taylor Swift has 10 different dresses that match each Era she performs during her concert.
After a particular Era, she goes backstage to change into the outfit for the next Era and reappears on stage. Even though this has been a fun experience, it sometimes leads to a wardrobe malfunction, but she manages it pretty well too.
Versace is the designer of the “Lover Era” dress. Taylor rocks this outfit with a “Sparkly Louboutin Heels,” which blends with the sparkles of the outfit.
“People Still Say She Can’t Sing”
This comment by @vellasthought23 on YouTube connects on another level to this comment,
“The Debate Isn’t If She Can Sing or Not,” made by @clarecatherine8387.
The thing is, people constantly try to categorise Taylor Swift as a regular artist, but she isn’t so. A lot of people try to paint a picture where Taylor Swift lip-syncs most of her performances. However, her performance of “Cruel Summer,” which is just an extract of the “Eras Tour” is a clear example of how wrong people are about her.
Before the tour began, Taylor Swift underwent training and exercises to enable her to perform 44 songs in a row. It’s sick to assume she lip-syncs on stage, even when she has mixed lyrics a couple of times before, showing the legitimate side of her career.
“And This is Absolutely About Matty!”
Taylor Swift has shared; a couple of times in her interviews that the song, “Cruel Summer,” was inspired by her relationship. Judging from when she wrote the song, which was in 2019, a lot of people believe that Joe Alwyn was the inspiration behind it.
Taylor Swift had been dating Joe Alwyn since 2016, but the relationship ended in 2023, shortly after she began the “Eras Tour.” A lot of people were eagerly waiting for a wedding date, but things took a turn with Taylor confessing that the breakup was of mutual interest.
This comment by @laurenc7891 on YouTube, depicted Matty, as the inspiration behind, “Cruel Summer.” – Matty is the same person Taylor reportedly hooked up with, in 2014, and again in 2023, after she broke up with Joe, and before her relationship with Travis Kelce. – But, that isn’t the fact. We arguably owe “Cruel Summer” to Joe Alwyn.
“I’m a Swiftie at 50”
Whoever said or thought there was an age limit to being a Swiftie has never met this user, @laurencestarmer991. Laurence Starmer is a 50-year-old Swiftie and a proud one. The user is a lover of guitars, just like Taylor Swift. Laurence has a single video on his YouTube, which is of a young fella, presumably, his grandkid, playing a melodious rhythm, just like Taylor Swift.
Another comment breaking the age barrier was made by @chapakikay, which is, “Hey, I’m 60 and a Swifty.”
